How Ciara’s 48-minutes performance in Lagos changed my life – By Adedayo Showemimo

It wasn’t an overflowing crowd (at least compared to Olamide’s OLIC 2), and unlike Kim Kardashian in 2013, Ciara did spend more than 5 minutes on stage.
But did the show live up to the hype? Lets find out.
Ciara arrived Lagos on Friday. Her arrival calmed some fraying nerves and immediately she got to work, rehearsing for her D-Day performance.
Fast forward to ‘Show-time’, the show officially kicked off at 8:35pm and you could practically feel the anticipation to see Ciara’s performance permeate through the auditorium. Will she kill it? How many songs will she perform? Hope she won’t pull a Kim Kardashian on us? These and more were questions and thoughts audible in the audience.

While the audience awaited Ciara’s grand entry, Nigerian acts, Sammy, Sound Sultan, Ruby Gyang and Darey Art Alade himself did a good job warming up the crowd with beautiful performances.
Truth be told, the concert delivered on all fronts. It clearly had amazing planning, good use of lights, clear sound, amazing costumes, brilliant use of space and pure artistic genius and delivery. Just so you know, Darey performed one of his songs with a stripper and a pole (and she was pretty good).
At 9:41 pm the moment of truth came upon us…. lo and behold it was Ciara all the way from Atlanta, Georgia and for the next 22 minutes, she performed, danced, entertained and left us wanting more at 10:03pm.
As the show moved on, and murmurs of ‘At least Ciara tried!’, ‘She performed for a long time!’, ‘She killed it!’ filled the audience, little did we know she was coming back on stage!.
At 10:58pm, Ciara return for her second spell on stage and you can bet she saved the best for the last. For another 26 minutes, Ciara won hearts, wriggled, danced, enjoyed herself and the moment she called Nigerian dance queen, Kaffy on stage to teach her Nigerian dance steps was electrifying.
Ciara danced the famous ‘Etighi’ to Iyanya’s ‘Kukere’, danced to Olamide’s ‘Shakiti Bobo’ and Tekno’s ‘Duro’. These moments were priceless!
If you are a true fan of Ciara, you would have definitely experienced a satisfaction of orgasmic proportions. And yes… I’ll definitely want to see Ciara in Nigeria again!

In a sleepy village known as Slovo Park near Siyabuswa, South Africa, villagers were torn with joy and surprise as they witnessed a rather strange wedding where a mother and son exchanged wedding vows.

The son, a traditional healer from Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga, said he married his biological mother in awedding ceremony to appease hisancestors. He now calls his mother “my wife”.
On Sunday more than 2000 people turned up to witness the wedding of Buti Mphethi, 28, to his mother Francinah Makunyane, 62.
But it wasn’t the kind of marriage where a man takes a wife to love and have children.
Buti Mhethi married his mother so that she could be accepted into the Mphethi family.
“The ancestors will reward Buti for what he has done today,” said his 62-year-old mother, Francinah, whose family name used to be Makunyane.
Now she is a proud member of the Mphethi family.

But it wasn’t an easy decision for ButiMphethi who dropped out of his second year studies in sound engineering at the Tshwane University of Technology in 2003 to become a sangoma. He felt it was a calling from his ancestors.
When the ancestors first told him to marry his own mother he flatly refused, and that’s when his troubles began.
The problem was that his father never paid lobola (Bride price) for his mother and so she was never married and fully accepted into the family.
Buti said: “My ancestors came to me in a dream while I was a student at the Tshwane University of Technology in 2003.
“I heeded the call to become a sangoma. But when they came up with the idea that I should marry my own mother, I flatly refused.”
Buti then took his own wife. But in the four years of their marriage, she could not give him a child.
He also could not sleep peacefully as bad dreams kept him awake every night.
Then, without any explanation, his wife left him. His younger brother’s marriage also didn’t work out and his wife left him as well.
That was when the two brothers realized that they had to heed the ancestors’ instructions or they would never be happy.
So on Saturday, Buti tied the knot with his mother.
He gave his “in-laws” two cows, and spent R14 000 on the wedding alone.
“I’m glad that I have finally appeased my ancestors and ensured that my mother is formally accepted in the family. She is now an Mphethi, as she should have been long ago,” he said.
Buti’s parents separated 15 years ago. His father, William Mphethi, currently has four wives.
Buti’s mum Francinah said she was very happy because she never believed that she would ever get married and be an Mphethi.
“I am old and getting married was something that I forgot about a long time ago,” she said.
“But the ancestors will reward Buti for what he has done today.”

Nollywood actress Shan George has called out a Sound City staff who collected N100,000 from her before her new song could be aired on the popular music channel. The problem now is that she paid the money but the guy has been posting her, saying the song is rubbish. Read her words below:

Heavy Shootings as Soldiers Invade Militant Leader's House

There was commotion on Monday night in Yeghe community of Gokana area of Rivers State as soldiers raided the house of a former militant, Solomon Ndigbara. The house was razed by the soldiers, even as the heavy shooting continued in the area.

Indigenes of the community were said to have abandoned their homes and fled to neighbouring communities as the soldiers took over Ndigbara’s house and its surroundings.

It was gathered that the army operations were extended to 

Khana area even as some people were said to have been injured while scampering to safety.

Sources said that some youths working for the former militant leader had set ablaze the campaign office of the Rivers South-East senatorial candidate of the APC, Senator Magnus Abe, in Bori, Khana area.

The attack on Senator Abe’s campaign office, according to a community source, was in retaliation of the soldiers’ raid of Ndigbara residence.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer, 2 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Captain Eli Lazarus, said there was an ongoing military operation by the Army in Gokana, promising that the media would soon be briefed on the matter.

Sources say Ndigbara is on the run but some of his boys are naming the politicians sponsoring them.
