Tiwa Savage Reveals Lil Kesh Should Have Won The ‘Next Rated’ Award Over Reekado Banks At The Headies

Mavin Records artist, Tiwa Savage has for the first time aired her thoughts on her fellow label mate, Reekado Banks winning the ‘Next Rated‘ at the Headies.

A win that stirred up controversy between Mavin Boss, Don Jazzy and YBNL boss, Olamide during and after the event. Although, Don Jazzy and Olamide have made up, the drama from the whole beef can’t be forgotten in a hurry.

Tiwa Savage moments ago, while speaking with Gbemi of The Beat FM on her evening show, weighed in on the issue and revealed that she feels Lil Kesh deserved the award.

It can be recalled that Reekado Banks also revealed before the show kicked off that he was rooting for Lil Kesh to win the ‘Next Rated‘ category.

Reekado Banks who recently won “The Next Rated Award” at the 2015 Headies sets another record with his ‘Sugar Baby’ video which has crossed the one million watch mark on video sharing platform, YouTube.

The video was released on December 1, 2015 with appearances from Adekunle Gold, Di’ja ,Korede Bello ,Ketchup ,Dr Sid and Mavin boss,Don Jazzy .

The video now has over 1,028,490 views on the platform as at yesterday January 21, 2016.

Nigerian pop star, Ayodeji Balogun better known as Wizkid is billed to thrill the people of Amsterdam next month.

As part of his world tour, the ‘Babanla’ singer will be performing at the Melkweg which is regarded as one of the biggest event centres in Netherlands and the most popular in Amsterdam.

He will be performing alongside UK live band, The Compozers who have also worked alongside the likes of Davido, Olamide amongst other top stars in the past.

The concert comes up on Wednesday, February 24, 2016.

President Muhammadu Buhari has finally given in to pressure from different quarters by replying the statements made recently by American Presidential Hopeful, Donald Trump concerning Nigerians.

Speaking to journalists in the United Arab Emirates, President Buhari had a simple reply to Donald Trump.

"He says he will fursue all my fiful out of America. No frovlem. I wish jim well at ze forthcoming elections. But if he thinks he can threaten my fiful zen I zont sink he understands who I am and what I am capable of". President Buhari told newsmen.

"He should go and ask the pamily of Umaru Dikko. he should ask ze Mossad about me. If he threatens my fiful, how does he sink ze Americans in Nigeria will be safe?"

The President went on to issue a warning to all Americans resident in Nigeria, both on temporary and permanent basis.

"I hofe all op you are fraying this man loses. vecause ip he wins, all op you, from emvassy to the streets, will be sent home. And don't ziscount the frovavility that your flane might not land exactly in America. Zat is all I can say por now".

Donald Trump could not be reached for comments as at press time. However, Hilary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, both Democratic Hopefuls, and Dr. Ben Carson and Ted Cruz of the GOP, have reached out to President Buhari, reassuring him that if they win, none of Mr. Trump's threats will come to fruition.

Makeup and lifestyle vlogger, Adenike Adeleke, popularly known as Nikos, has begun the year on a sexy note.

The young diva, who is the younger sister of Sina Rambo and B Red and also the cousin to pop star, Davido, recently shared bikini photos of herself at the beach.

Talking about being thick and proud of it!

The popular VJ was part of a movie project and he was about to kick off his first scene when he miscalculated and fell hard on the ground. On falling, his face got stuck by a mettalic object and he’s lucky it didn’t pierce his eyes.

He shared the photos via his Instagram page and below is how he’s sharing the story:

All in a bid to make my acting more convincing, I was supposed to drop into a faint in the very first scene of the movie “PEPPER SOUP” but I guess I miscalculated and fell hard on a metallic object on the floor that pierced my face. I kinda blacked out for a few seconds and felt something warm running down my face…Truth is, a blood vessel just a lil above my right eye (an inch away from my eyebrow bone) was burst open and it was hard to control the bleeding!
The production team was stunned and scared at the same time. They almost called off the production but I refused!
THE SHOW MUST GO ON!
And I finished this job with all the grace, strength, resilience and amazing character interpretation that I could muster!

Nollywood kid actor, Olamide David is dead, according to reports.

The late upcoming actor, who is a popular face in the Yoruba sector of Nollywood, according to information received passed on yesterday Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the age of 14.

Olamide reportedly died at the General Hospital Ikeja, where he was rushed to after complaining of stomach pains.

He was said to have been mistakenly kicked in the stomach while playing football with his friends.

Olamide, who won the Best Kid Actor at 2015 Best of Nollywood Awards, has featured in several Yoruba movies. One of his popular films is Cobweb, which also features Foluke Daramola.

AY got married to his beautiful wife, Mabel on the 28th of November, 2008. The comedian revealed that one of the reasons he married the woman he calls his wife was because of her fine legs. They both have a lovely daughter together named Michelle.

Christ Embassy founder, Chris Oyakhilome started charging crossover worshippers in December 2010.

On December 31, 2015, Christians who attended crossover service at Love World Intern Christ Embassy were billed at the gate.

No one was allowed in, NewsroomNG gathered, if they couldn’t afford a N1,000 electronic gate pass.

A church usher (most likely a Johnny Just Come from another branch) saw the whole money for worship process and couldn’t stomach it. We won’t be mentioning his real name. Let’s call him John.

John said he couldn’t bear what was playing out before his eyes. So he started questioning his superiors on why earnest worshippers couldn’t freely walk into the house of God on a special day like this.

John’s superiors, we gathered, immediately relieved him of his ushering duties and locked him up in one of the church offices.

Unknown to them, John had been in contact with a journalist whose name we would also not mention. He spoke with the journalist the moment they relieved him of his duties.

But he never thought they would go as far as “arrest” and detain him.

‘I couldn’t believe my eyes,” he said.

‘They were collecting money at the gate something I’m not sure the Jesus we preach would do. I just couldn’t believe anyone who follows Jesus would do that.

‘I just had to speak out. But they didn’t want to be questioned.

The Christ Embassy headquarters, it is reported, can seat 20,000 people. If each of these pay N1,000…do the math.

‘I wasn’t surprised when they told me I was off for the night. I thought they would just allow me go into the church service but they didn’t. They took me into one of our offices and locked me up.

‘That made me more angry, it was just unbelievable,’ he said.

John kept in touch with the journalist days after the New Year 2016. But after a while, he stopped picking the journalist’s calls.

It wouldn’t be the first time that would happen either. The Chris Oyakhilome-led grace-preaching, and miracle-working, church is known to sell its seats for fees during crossover services.

The church said it imposed the charge to control the heavy crowd its New Year’s Eve services attract.

Attending a crossover service at Christ Embassy’s headquarters on Billings ‎Way in Oregun Area of Lagos…especially when Chris Oyakhilome is presiding over such…is not free.

Christ Embassy first introduced the widely condemned measure on 31 December, 2010. Then, the church mandated anyone who wanted to attend the service to purchase a N1,000 ticket before hand.

No one, who didn’t have the ticket, was allowed into the worship center.

On December 21, 2015, Christ Embassy made it compulsory for worshippers to purchase an electronic gate pass for N1,000.

John said he just couldn’t stomach it, and the church gave him a robust response.

Earlier, a passer-by along the rail line in Ikeja saw three men in tattered dresses. One of them was making a call and one eating a meat suspected to be human flesh.

The passer-by raised an alarm that attracted the mob which instantly pounced on the two suspect human part eaters. But the one making the phone call managed to escape.

Their problem was compounded when the mob moved to their hideout behind the Ikeja Local Government Secretariat fence and found a cutlass, knife, charms and meat with fat which the mob suspected to be human flesh

The managing director and chief executive officer of Heritage Bank, Ifie Sekibo has advised Nigerians to always patronise locally made goods and services in order to stimulate economic growth and preserve the current foreign exchange rate.

Sekibo made his feelings known during while his bank was presented with the 2015 Gold Sponsorship award by the Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria (FICAN) at the bank’s head office in Lagos.

He stressed the importance of driving the conversation about Nigerians changing their lives for the better forward into the public domain.

“We can’t grow an economy where all we want to spend on are dollar-denominated and foreign goods.

“Nigerians, they want to be doing all their spending on dollars, forgetting that the dollar is not our local currency,” Sekibo said.

“Everything they do with dollar gives employment to somebody in another country and not in Nigeria. So, we must continue to have that conversation and it must be robust.”

The banker also said that it is crucially important to educate the Nigerian public about different currencies and related financial issues by using various kinds of information formats.

“You have members in print, electronic and online, if with 100 people on your platform alone, you can drive this change.”

Commenting on the award granted by FICAN, he said: “We are still very young in our development as an organisation.

“We didn’t step out to support FICAN with the intention of getting this award. People send all kinds of letters to us saying we have been awarded this and that but we have been turning them down.”
